Laptops for Kids, the fast-growing charitable organisation, is seeking volunteers to support its mission.

Due to the latest lockdown and an increase in donations, we are looking for responsible individuals to help erase data from donated devices at a facility at The Sheffield College.

They will be using software gifted by Blancco, a leading global data security company.

Requirements:

  • A good level of proficiency in general computer usage
  • Ability to input and cross check information in spreadsheets
  • Ability to understand and carefully follow step by step instructions
  • Good attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • An understanding of installing computer operating systems
  • Previous technical support / IT help experience
  • Experience of refurbishing or repairing PCs / laptops.

The time commitment would be flexible around the hours of 9am-12pm and 1-4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at The Sheffield College City Campus. Volunteers would need their own transport. The Sheffield College operates a Covid-secure environment and volunteers will need to follow guidelines set by the college.
